Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused
Back Counter Parts Advisor
to join our Ford Lincoln dealership's Parts Department. This role is responsible for supporting the service and technician team by ensuring timely and accurate parts fulfillment for vehicle repairs and maintenance. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of OEM parts, particularly Ford and Lincoln products, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately identify and supply required parts to service technicians for repair and maintenance work.
Maintain clear communication with the service department to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of parts.
Check availability and order parts as needed through the dealership's DMS (Dealer Management System) and Ford Motorcraft parts catalog.
Receive and stock incoming parts shipments; ensure proper binning and labeling.
Assist with warranty parts processing and core returns in compliance with Ford and Lincoln standards.
Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels for commonly used service parts.
Provide technical guidance on parts compatibility and substitutions when needed.
Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation processes.
Ensure back counter area is clean, organized, and compliant with dealership policies and OEM guidelines.
Collaborate with front counter parts staff when necessary to ensure optimal parts flow and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or technical certification preferred.
1-2 years of experience in an automotive parts department, preferably with Ford or Lincoln.
Familiarity with OEM parts systems and electronic cataloging tools (e.g., Ford Motorcraft, CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, etc.).
Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components, especially Ford and Lincoln models.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Team player with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry parts up to 50 lbs.
Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Occasional climbing and use of ladders to access inventory.
