Job Description


Matrix is looking to hire B-Pressure/ CWB Welders for a long-term project at our client's Norman Wells site located in the Northwest Territories. Flights are provided from Edmonton and Camp is also provided. We offer a rotational allowance of $250 per rotation worked. B-Pressure/ CWB Welders will be responsible for successfully executing welding-related tasks in a construction environment.

The pay rate is $44/hr. Our client is a recognized leader in plant maintenance, turnarounds, and capital projects across Canada.

Hours of Work:
  • Shift Rotation: 15/13.
  • Working 10 hours per day.

Scope of Work:
  • Develops patterns for projects or follows directions in given layouts, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Cleans, checks for defects, and shapes component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch.
  • Welds parts and may also build up worn parts by welding layers of high-strength hard-metal alloys onto them.
  • Perform daily progress reports based on client and company requirements.
  • Comprehends diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Aligns and tests equipment to make any necessary adjustments.
  • Performs predictive and operational maintenance using procedures manufacturers' specifications and repair or replace defective parts when necessary.
  • Clean equipment as required to perform maintenance activities.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Journeyperson Welder certification from a recognized provincial training authority.
  • CWB SMAW All Position including 'T' Certification.
  • Valid B-Pressure certification.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial construction setting.
  • Minimum 1-year piling experience.
  • Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
  • Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
  • Successful candidates are required to have a valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be willing to complete all required pre-access training identified at the time of hire.
