- You are client-centric and are comfortable to speak with technical contacts in customer environments The Role: As an Azure SQL database administrator, your responsibility would be to manage the Azure SQL database instances and ensure their performance, reliability, and security. You will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of mission critical production client database environments. - Monitoring and tuning database performance of Azure SQL databases to ensure they meet the performance requirements of the organization. This includes monitoring resource utilization, identifying performance bottlenecks, and tuning database parameters.
- Implementing and managing database security policies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data. This includes implementing encryption (e.g., Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)), access controls, and auditing.
- Backup and recovery: You will be responsible for designing and implementing backup and recovery strategies according to industry\xe2\x80\x99s best practice
- Managing Azure SQL databases in high-availability and disaster recovery environments: You will be responsible for designing and implementing Azure SQL database solutions that are highly available and can recover from disasters.
- Experienced in writing code and scripts in PowerShell to develop and maintain our internal tool, troubleshoot and debug PowerShell scripts. Requirements: - Relevant experience in managing and supporting database environments hosted on Microsoft Azure
- Tuning performance, SQL query, stored procedures optimization, Index management on Microsoft Azure
- Proficiency in PowerShell coding: should have a strong understanding of PowerShell scripting language and its core features.
- Problem-solving skills: should have strong problem-solving skills to analyze and troubleshoot issues in the code, write scripts from scratch based on defined requirements.
- Experience working with Git.
- Understanding of ITIL for incident management and Jira
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to clearly present ideas and technical concepts
- Technical documentation skills
- Microsoft Azure Certifications is an asset Nice to have:
