Job Title: Azure SQL DataBase Specialist
Job ID: 57107
Location: Regina, Saskatchewan
What you will be doing:
Monitor database for performance issues.
Analyze and make recommendations on improving indexing.
Analyze and make recommendations on reducing database size.
Analyze and make recommendations on effective database design.
Manage database retention strategy.
Document and simulate database disaster recovery scenarios.
Solve database-related Technical Debt tasks.
Assist with creating copies of databases as needed.
Research database related questions as they arise and make recommendations. (ex: clustered vs non-clustered key impacts, sharding, GUID vs string data type)
Work on database related projects as they arise (ex: moving a Production database to another Azure region)
Investigate database data to answer questions/help solve bugs.
What you must have:
Azure and SQL in a production environment experience
Nice to have:
Any non-SQL programming experience is an asset.
Any experience working on commercial software is an asset.
