Az/dz Truck Driver

Job Description

Pioneer Construction is looking for hard-working, self-motivated employees with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of truck driver in the Dubreuilville, Ontario area for the 2025-2026 winter season. The successful candidates will require a high level of motivation, professionalism, and independence. This is a full-time seasonal position from September 2025 to April 2026, with the possibility of extension. This position is available with competitive wages and a benefits package.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:



Safely load, tie down, immobilize, and secure all equipment and materials in a safe manner in accordance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) guidelines. Assist in loading and unloading of equipment. Operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with plows, sanders, and/or water tanks for snow and ice control Haul snow from designated areas to disposal sites as required Plow snow and ice from access roads, driveways, parking lots, work sites, and other areas. Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials to mine site roads and work areas Perform general labourer duties such as clearing snow from high traffic and critical infrastructure areas including entrances, access roads, emergency exits, and equipment pads when required. Maintain accurate electronic hours of service and vehicle inspection logs in accordance with MTO regulations, and all related delivery paperwork. Perform daily pre-op and post-op inspections on equipment and attend daily safety meetings. Constantly monitor vehicle fitness, load security, and ever-changing conditions. Identify, report and correct hazards. Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment. Team player and display professionalism toward our company and customers. Physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday. Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment. Work schedule consists of 7 days on and 7 days off. Day shifts and night shifts as required. Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications:



Education:



Valid DZ or AZ license with a clean driver's abstract is required. (priority will be given to AZ licensed applicants) Minimum 1 Year AZ/DZ driving experience is required. Prior experience in snow removal is considered an asset. Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset. High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



Successfully passed comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal Background Check (CPIC) and any other requirements they impose on contractors). Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Including the ability to take direction from supervisors. Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a cheerful outlook and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
