Family owned & operated since 1948, Bayview Flowers is a live plant grower, broker, and distributor that services supermarkets and big box retailers across North America. We are seeking an AZ Driver to complement our Logistics team. This position will primarily focus on direct-store-deliveries in Southern Ontario, GTA, and parts of Quebec. There will be the occasional opportunity to run US-based routes where applicable

Responsibilities:

Transporting goods safely to and from specific locations across North America. Maintaining an accurate record of all pick-ups and drop-offs, resting periods, mileage coverage, toll fees and fuel consumption. Perform pre-trip, route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights and turn signals, brakes, and cold storage. Appropriately planned driving routes to ensure the product is promptly delivered to customers. Regularly inspect and maintain the company truck to ensure that the truck is roadworthy and safe to be on the road. Frequently communicating with company dispatchers to inform them of deliveries completed and potential delays. Promptly advise logistics of any mechanical issues regarding the company truck and all other matters regarding the delivery. Drivers must ensure they have all the paperwork required before departing for a delivery or a pickup. Drivers must get the Bill of Lading signed and stamped as Proof of Delivery upon delivery. Drivers must update the dispatchers as each delivery is completed so the dispatch can update customers on the driver's ETA. Drivers must be professional at all times as they represent Bayview in their day-to-day duties. Drivers must punch in before their shift starts and punch out once their day is completed. Logging in their hours on a day-to-day basis.
Job Specific Qualifications:

Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of an accredited driver training course of up to three months through a vocational school or community college. A Class 3 or D licence is required to drive straight-body trucks. A Class 1 or A licence is required to drive long combination vehicles. Air brake endorsement (Z) is required for drivers who operate vehicles equipped with air brakes.
