Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated AZ Driver (Independent Contractor) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently.

This role will be a working position on an event team. The driver will transport a 53' tractor trailer across Canada and participate in an event set up with the event team using the assets from the load.

This contract will be traveling for the month of January.

Responsibilities

Operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations and Highway regulations. Transport freight and materials to various locations as required. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Utilize forklift or heavy equipment as necessary for loading/unloading tasks. Must have valid forklift license. Perform basic automotive repairs as needed to ensure vehicle reliability.

Responsibilities during Event Setup & Tear Down

Load & Unload event assets with the team with either forklift, pallet jacks or by hand Setting up various event assets, including but not limited to: pop-up tents, fence mesh, furniture, lounge space, display items and tent weights that weigh 22lbs per unit Must be able and to lift heavy items up to 75lbs alone; all other heavy items will be moved using equipment or more than one person Tearing all event assets and reloading the truck before travel The event will be outdoors and all load in and load out will be done outside in the cold so appropriate winter clothing is necessary

Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Valid forklift license is necessary Experience in commercial driving or freight transportation preferred. Knowledge of automotive repair is a plus. Familiarity with forklift operation and heavy equipment operation is advantageous. Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo. Strong time management skills and ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $5,000.00-$7,000.00 per month
