Tecvative Inc is looking to hire an AWS Cloud Consultant. In this role you will use your knowledge of the market trends and experience with the AWS platform to advise our clients, addressing their business challenges through AWS cloud and accelerate the journey to AWS cloud and/or optimize the value realization of the AWS platform. Migrations from on-premises to AWS will be an integral part of the job. Your activities might include support for sales/pre-sales as well as the consultancy or implementation projects.

The candidate will have a keen eye for detail and work well within a team. They will also be expected to ensure that all work is delivered to the highest quality.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Green field development of Amazon Web Services infrastructure (EC2, RDS, EMR, etc.)
  • Build landing zones using AWS Control Tower
  • Customer workshops to help them shape their journey to AWS
  • Design, document and implement strategies around Cloud and DevOps
  • Assist Cloud Architects to design AWS architecture
Typical Qualifications / Experience
  • Bachelors/Masters or an equivalent degree
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, implementation or consulting in infrastructure, automation, or application domain
  • AWS core services, including Compute and Networking, Storage and CDN, Database, Application Services, Deployment and Management
  • Good knowledge of Linux Systems Administration/Engineering
  • Security features that AWS provides and best practices
  • Network technologies as they relate to AWS networking, including DNS and load balancing, Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), and AWS Direct Connect
  • Scripting skills on both Windows and Linux with Microsoft PowerShell, Bash or other
  • Experience migrating legacy systems to Cloud and implement best practices for cloud and security on AWS for customers.
  • Experience in infrastructure (Servers, network), security and at least one programming language (e.g.: PERL, Python, Java, etc.)
  • At least five years of IT industry experience
  • Up to date AWS certifications
Advantageous Skills
  • Automation Tools (e.g. Chef/Puppet)
  • Webserver (e.g. Nginx, Apache)
  • Scripting experience in at least one of the following: Ruby, Python, Bash
  • RESTful Web Services, XML, JSON
  • Networking concepts including routing tables, access control lists, firewalls, NAT, HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, OSI model
  • Large-scale distributed systems architecture
  • One or more software development models
