You will report directly to the VP, Personal Insurance Underwriting of Aviva Canada.This position will be responsible for driving the technical underwriting strategy of underwriting across Aviva Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Personal & Specialty Lines portfolio. Driving the modernization and simplification of underwriting in alignment with and leveraging, the digital transformation. This role collaborates with the Product and Customer teams on new product development and product reviews balancing our customer and broker experience with the requirement to handle underwriting risks.Our ideal candidate will align and partner with key stakeholders influencing product and policy build to increase automation and efficiencies, reduce friction and improve our customer and broker experience.Come join our team!What you\'ll do:Leads personal insurance underwriting through our Underwriting Transformation in preparation for Broker Guidewire transformation ensuring that appropriate improvements are built as the foundation for our new system.Embeds a strong risk culture within the team including significant individual accountability and ownership of risk management activities.Responsible for resource capacity planning, ensuring that appropriate skills and capacity are in place to deliver on the personal insurance strategy.Ensure that PI Underwriting Policy have the accurate regulatory oversight in each region in Canada and that our products, pricing, and regulatory practices will be in line with requirements.Collaborate with IT, business channel leaders, and Underwriting Operations to drive simplification, modernization, increase automation and efficiency.Supervise regulatory websites, regulator bulletins and announcements as well as industry bulletins from the IBC (Insurance Bureau of Canada).Provide support and consultation to Government Relations roles from a PI UW perspective during advocacy efforts or when regulatory changes are under review.Limit exposure by ensuring that Aviva Canada PI underwriting policies and procedures are up to date and include any legal changes from new legislation or external industry factors.Contributing to the development of business strategy and risk appetite, providing insights regarding current and anticipated insurance regulatory and industry trends.Leading key relationships with PI SLT (Senior Leadership Team) and senior level stakeholders in Operations, Pricing, Claims, Risk and Legal.Support auto and property portfolio leads in the management of risk and exposure in all lines of businesses.What you\'ll bring:Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance or similar.
