The Group Functions Technology team is the primary IT delivery partner for multiple corporate areas, accelerating business capabilities to enable productivity and employee experience globally. The functions supported by GFT include:

The position of AVP, Technology Business Mgmt. & Strategy (TBMS) plays a leadership role within Group Functions Technology (GFT). The GFT team leads all the global technology delivery and deployment for all the functions (internal technology) across the enterprise. This role defines the vision and strategy for the group, overseeing a team of IT delivery program managers, setting, and tracking performance metrics, and serving as the Chief of Staff for the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of GFT.

In this role you will report directly to the CIO of GFT, leading a team of ~50 to drive continuous delivery excellence, enhance portfolio governance, and engage with functional stakeholders globally. You will have direct responsibility for portfolio management and capacity planning by leveraging enterprise tools such as Planview and Power BI (Business Intelligence). The AVP will support intake and prioritization in a cross-functional manner, requiring strong collaboration and partnership and the ability to balance execution speed, risk management, and stakeholder focus.

Core responsibilities will include:

Oversee GFT\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio of work, facilitating business case preparation and prioritizing capacity based on enterprise value

Manage IT budget by supporting quarterly and annual planning activities.

Oversee GFT communications, employee engagement, partnership with Procurement on strategic vendors, and special projects

Provide portfolio reporting for GFT Leadership and Executive Teams.

Work directly with the CIO and other technology and business leads to complete deliverables for Global Technology Executive meetings Technology.

Technology Business Management accountabilities:

Business Partnering

Provide leadership in the alignment and integration of GFT strategies and initiatives, including optimizing governance structures and operating models with other functions and segment teams.

Facilitate IT and Functional planning and ideation sessions

Support team in staying aware of emerging trends, regulatory requirements and potential issues and impacts.

Point-of-contact for IT business management information requests.

Operate as an integrator for engaging other IT teams.

Drive strategic portfolio analysis and resource alignment to enable data-driven decision making.

Develop, track, and report on management metrics and action plans.

Management Analytics and Reporting

Develop a set of IT metrics and analysis to enable efficient, effective, and transparent GFT performance.

Provide timely and accurate management reports, including continuously monitoring and improving on metrics

Ensure an integrated and aggregated view of key activities across the portfolio, providing escalations, recommendations, and decision support to leadership

Accountable for continuous improvements in management reporting.

Develop and Implement Strategy

Action plans to reduce data gaps and drive adoption of cross-GFT reports.

Develop and prepare executive presentation materials.

Prepare performance reports and ad hoc requests.

Craft analysis, conclusions, and facilitate associated actions.

Portfolio, Capacity, and Financial Planning

Coordinate, facilitate, and manage quarterly and annual planning across GFT in conjunction with IT Leadership, Functional Leadership, and Finance teams.

Ensure GFT plans are comprehensive and include business priorities, technology initiatives, resource plans, FTE plans, and financial plans.

Act as a point of contact for the GFT Leadership team for business planning-related matters.

Support vendor management as led by Procurement, including engaging with 3rd parties and vendors.

People Management Accountabilities:

Help develop a workforce of the future by providing coaching, succession planning, recruitment, resource management, team leadership, and input into performance and development plans.

Partner with HR and leaders to hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and GFT goals.

Provide leadership to influence employee engagement to the organization, to the team, and to their role.

Qualifications:

Strong background in software development, accounting, and program delivery.

10+ years working experience in technology or other software development environment.

Engineering and/or CPA designation is an asset.

Sound knowledge of the finance processes and related data considerations.

Strategic thinker with excellent analytic and problem solving skills

Exceptional communication skills.

Ability to influence functional and technical stakeholders.

Advanced organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between $120,400.00 CAD - $223,700.00 CAD
