AVP, Financial Risk & Resilience

What's the role?
As
AVP, Financial Risk & Resilience
, you will lead the Financial Resilience function as a second line of defense within Enterprise Risk Management. You'll provide strategic oversight of financial risks, enhance ICAAP and stress testing frameworks, and refine governance and reporting to meet Board and regulatory expectations. You'll also ensure financial resilience metrics are integrated into centralized systems and communication materials are tailored for effective stakeholder engagement.
Your duties will include:
Leading development and execution of Financial Resilience framework and policies.
Aligning financial risk practices with organizational risk appetite and strategic goals.
Integrating financial risk oversight into ERM frameworks and governance.
Standardizing protocols across liquidity, capital, and investment risk domains.
Overseeing ICAAP methodologies, documentation, and capital adequacy assessments.
Leading scenario design and stress testing, integrating results into planning and reporting.
Collaborating with Finance and Risk teams to inform enterprise decision-making.
Monitoring financial performance indicators and validate financial models.
Assessing funding strategies and investment exposures for resilience.
Developing governance frameworks and ensure accurate reporting to stakeholders.
Tailoring communication materials for diverse audiences.
Identifying and addressing gaps in data, protocols, and coordination.
Integrating financial resilience metrics into centralized systems.
Championing continuous improvement across financial risk processes.
Collaborating with IT and data teams to enhance system capabilities.
Staying current on industry trends and regulatory developments.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Numerical Analytics, or Risk Management; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum seven years of experience in financial risk, corporate finance, treasury, or quantitative risk management.
Minimum seven years of experience leading and managing people.
Experience in OSFI and/or BCFSA regulated financial risk departments.
Professional certification (e.g., CBCP, ISO 22301, CRMP) is an asset.
Advanced understanding of credit union operations, principles, and values.

Career Band Range (Annual Salary) - $92,700.00 to $137,579.00
The posted salary range is designed to reflect a broad career band, encompassing a variety of roles within our organization and serves as a general guideline. Your final compensation will be tailored to your unique skills, experience, and the responsibilities of the role.
