Position Summary:
The Avionics Technician is responsible for performing troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of avionics systems on helicopters. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently or as part of a team to ensure all avionics equipment meets regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough troubleshooting and diagnostic testing on helicopter avionics systems.
Install, inspect, repair, and maintain avionics systems and components, including navigation, communication, and flight control systems.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including FAA, Transport Canada, and company policies.
Perform software updates, calibrations, and equipment modifications as required.
Document all work completed in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to achieve timely, effective repairs and installations.
Participate in regular training and certification programs to stay up-to-date on industry advancements.
Qualifications:
TCAA Approved Avionics or Accredited Avionics course.
Minimum of 2 years experience as an Avionics Technician, preferably in a helicopter maintenance.
Strong understanding of helicopter electrical and avionics systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Knowledge of regulatory standards (FAA, Transport Canada) for avionics maintenance and installation.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AIRBUS AS350B3,H120, EC130B4/EC130T2/H130, EC135/H135, and EC145/H145 avionics systems.
Familiarity with common avionics software and testing equipment.
Transport Canada license (AME).
