Summary



This position involves conducting audits, inspections, and analyses to ensure compliance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As our QA Auditor you will lead internal audits, coordinate corrective action plans and work with our overall Management team to ensure our operations align with our Maintenance Program and the Canadian Aviation Regulations.

Requirements



Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control within the aviation industry or related field. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively. Excellent communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members. Experience in conducting audits or inspections is preferred. Previous experience working within the aviation industry, or a comparable highly regulated industry Previous experience with auditing a technical operation

Key Responsibilities:



As directed by and in partnership with the Director of Maintenance and Accountable Executive:

Quality Assurance Program Management:



Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Assurance (QA) Program in compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Alkan Air's policies (i.e. Maintenance Control Manual and Maintenance Program Manual), and industry best practices. Ensure the Quality Assurance program covers all aspects of aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modifications. Monitor the effectiveness of the QA program through regular audits, inspections, and evaluations of maintenance activities.

Regulatory Compliance:



Ensure all maintenance operations comply with CARs, Transport Canada regulations, and other applicable aviation standards. Stay updated on changes to aviation regulations and standards, ensuring the organization adapts to new requirements. Liaise with Transport Canada and other regulatory bodies during inspections, audits, and certification processes.

Audit and Inspection:



Take the lead in conducting internal audits, ensuring rigorous quality standards, and providing guidance to auditors for continuous improvement. Conduct regular internal audits of maintenance processes, facilities, and personnel to ensure adherence to QA standards. Oversee the inspection of aircraft and maintenance activities to verify compliance with airworthiness requirements. Participate and provide data in any external audits. Identify non-conformances, review the investigation of their root causes, and ensure the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Participate in the preparation and auditing of all company policies and procedures. Review QA Findings and coordinate completion with various Department Managers / Area Supervisors.

Documentation and Records Management:



Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all QA activities, including audits, inspections, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance documentation. Ensure all maintenance records are complete, accurate, and in accordance with CARs and company policies.

Team Leadership:



Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance department by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency. Lead initiatives to improve maintenance processes, reduce errors, and enhance overall operational performance. Coordinate QA activities with other departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Safety Management System (SMS) Integration:



Collaborate with the Safety Manager to ensure the integration of QA activities within the company's Safety Management System (SMS). Participate in safety investigations and contribute to the development of safety performance indicators and safety risk management processes. Adhere to QA standards and responsibilities as outlined in the MCM and MPM. Other duties as assigned by Management.
