Job Description

As an AV technician, you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and management of AV equipment. You will support users in their technical projects, ensure the maintenance of the equipment and contribute to the operations of the Documentation Center. You also play a key role in managing special events as well as providing technical support to students and teachers.
Status: Full-time temporary of 6 months
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure and operate audiovisual equipment for courses, presentations and special events;
  • Assist users in their projects and provide them with appropriate technical advice;
  • Copy and transfer audiovisual documents (DVD, VHS, CD, USB keys, etc.);
  • Collaborate with teachers and IT to solve technical problems in the classroom;
  • Maintain the inventory of audiovisual equipment and participate in its acquisition;
  • Check, clean, adjust and perform minor repairs on equipment;
  • Follow up on repairs carried out by external suppliers;
  • Assess the relevance and condition of equipment;
  • Provide technical assistance on the Centre's equipment (photocopiers, scanners, booking software, etc.);
  • Welcome and inform users about the Centre's policies and regulations;
  • Participate in the organization of spaces, the storage of equipment and the follow-up of orders.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in a relevant field or recognized equivalent training;
  • Have relevant experience in the installation and maintenance of audiovisual, sound and digital visual equipment;
  • Mastery of audiovisual equipment (microphones, speakers, sound consoles, video projectors, cameras, GoPro, etc.);
  • Knowledge of software and management tools related to libraries and technical equipment;
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Fluency in the French language (oral and written);
  • Proficiency in the English language at a professional level (oral and written).
This role involves frequent interactions with internal and external customers and partners on a national and global scale. Professional proficiency in English is therefore a requirement for this role.
