Three-year diploma/degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Multimedia or Electronics
Minimum of three years' experience in programming of control systems, design of classrooms and construction of cabling
Working knowledge of the communication standards of different A/V equipment manufacturers and technology integration
Working knowledge of building codes and AODA as they apply to audio visual
In depth knowledge of IP networking technology and protocols.
In depth knowledge of IP based video and audio technology, video over IP, mixing consoles and the design of systems and facilities.
Proficient in effective use of Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting computer hardware and software problems.
Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Demonstrated experience in operating and application of audio visual, multimedia and computers as instructional technology
Working at Heights is considered an asset.
In-person, on-campus position - must be able to reliably commute to North Bay, ON
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for the maintenance and operation of all audio-visual equipment
Research, and purchase equipment for electronic classrooms and simulation labs
Design new classroom layouts
Coordinate equipment installation with various departments and outside venders
Installation and configuration of new multi-media systems in new and existing electronic classrooms
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Educational Technologies Services equipment
Remote monitoring of classroom equipment
Program a variety of controls system from different manufacturers and configure A/V equipment for classroom and lecture theatres
Plan and implement support for college sponsored conferences and occasional special projects and events requiring audio visual support
Place orders, track and check invoices
Help maintain equipment inventory, working with vendors for supplies and parts
Coordinate with manufacturers for repairs and service
Other duties as assigned
