What we are looking for





We are looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with experience in the operating room, specifically in orthopedics - total hip replacement (THR/TKR), to join our dynamic team in Laval!


General Responsibilities:




Admit the patient and verify their file; Review the file, data collection, and the safe surgery checklist; Perform surgical aseptic hand hygiene and don sterile attire after the patient is positioned on the surgical table; Arrange instruments on the sterile table according to their function and logical order of use, and ensure this order is maintained throughout the surgery; Conduct an initial surgical inventory for materials (gauze, sharps, miscellaneous items) and surgical instruments; Place sterile tables around the surgical table and transfer them to the ward Externally, the necessary equipment for the operation of devices and equipment; ? Follow the surgical procedure to anticipate and respond to the surgeon's needs; ? Prepare, arrange, dispense, and receive the necessary instruments, equipment, and products in response to the surgeon's request; ? Perform technical assistance in response to a specific request from the surgeon, in order to support a procedure initiated by them; ? Prepare medications and solutions according to instructions received from the surgeon (except for intravenous administration); ? Apply the first layer of dressing while respecting aseptic principles; ? Internal service and ensure the sterility of the surgical area; Contribute to the overall preoperative assessment and perform the necessary follow-ups for safe surgery; Carry out procedures, request examinations, complete hospital records, and schedule consultations to ensure safe interventions according to current CMS standards; Perform all other related tasks. Desired Profile You have: More than 4 years of experience in the operating room, specifically in orthopedics. (PTH/PTG) A completed DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Nursing A valid OIIAQ (Quebec Order of Nurses) license Excellent command of French and an intermediate level of English A desire to be actively involved in a stimulating environment + Strong interpersonal and communication skills Professional
