Job Overview



We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools and power tools, as well as the capability to read and interpret schematics. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality service.


Responsibilities




Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards. Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs and installations. Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions. Use technology to provide accurate vehicle assessments Communicate clearly with customers regarding their vehicle's condition and necessary repairs. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow in the service department. Assist in heavy lifting tasks when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training. Maintain a clear, clean and safe workspace as well as the shop overall, the exterior and all customer spaces as required.

Experience




Previous experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic in a dealership or similar environment is preferred. Familiarity with automotive repair processes, including welding when required. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients about their vehicle needs. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic setting. A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to automotive repair are a plus.

Attention to detail - repairs need to be made thoroughly, cleanly and properly to ensure quality of service. Promptness - techs need to be on time, ready to work and driven to get the next vehicle into the shop. Approved repairs should be started as soon as possible and completed as much as possible. Willingness to learn - open to collaboration with other techs and management as well as future learning and training.



Pay Structure





Technicians at Craig's are paid an hourly wage $20-$30 and hour depending on experience, as a base wage. You'll be able to earn "flat-rate" bonus hours based on billed hours. If you sell 90 hours in a pay period, you get paid 90 hours. On top on that we have a labor sales bonus, which ranges from $2 - $8 per hour sold baser on labor targets.
