Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic, driven Automotive Pre-owned Sales Manager to lead our front-end Sales team. This individual will be responsible for driving production, developing staff, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Sales Manager plays a key role in achieving sales goals, maintaining high customer satisfaction (CSI), and maximizing overall profitability within the variable operations of the dealership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the daily operations of the Sales department, ensuring goals for volume, gross, and closing ratios are met or exceeded
Develop and execute sales strategies that align with dealership objectives
Assist with desking deals, appraising trade-ins, and structuring profitable transactions
Monitor and manage all customer traffic sources--including internet leads, phone calls, walk-ins, and service lane opportunities--to ensure prompt engagement and high conversion rates
Recruit, train, and coach the sales team to reach peak performance
Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable
Foster a culture of motivation, integrity, and continuous improvement
Ensure the sales process consistently delivers a customer-first experience
Maximize team productivity and CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) to drive long-term loyalty and ensure maximum profitability
Proactively address and resolve customer concerns or escalations
Monitor key sales metrics and implement adjustments as needed
Collaborate with the BDC, Finance, and Inventory teams to streamline the customer journey
Maintain compliance with manufacturer and provincial regulatory standards
Other duties as required by the Dealership Leadership team or our OEM partners.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Automotive Management, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in automotive retail, with at least 1-2 years in a sales management role
Valid Driver's License with an acceptable, safe driving history.
Current AMVIC or OMVIC license or the ability to acquire one, as required by the position.
Ability to adequately pass a pre-employment background screening.
OEM certification and previous multi-brand or high-volume dealership experience.
Proven track record of exceeding sales performance targets as a manager leading a team
Strong understanding of F&I products, compliance, and menu selling techniques
Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to exceptional customer service
Proficiency with CRM, DMS, and desking tools (e.g., Dealertrack, Reynolds & Reynolds, VAuto)
