[4 months - Jan-April 2026]An Automation Specialist Intern supports the design, programming, and implementation of
industrial automation systems
to improve process efficiency, reliability, and safety. This role offers hands-on experience withPLC/DCS systems, control logic, and SCADA/HMI development
, while working alongside senior automation engineers.Responsibilities
Assist in the programming, testing, and troubleshooting
of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.Support reviewing of
control system documentation
, including I/O lists, P&IDs and Control NarrativesParticipate in
factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT)
.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to
support project delivery
and commissioning.Skills & Tools Gained
Programming:
Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured TextPlatforms:
Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, DeltaV, and HoneywellVisualization:
HMI/SCADA and DeltaV LiveProtocols:
Modbus, Profibus, OPC, Ethernet/IPQualifications
Recent Canadian Institute graduate/Final year student
in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering.Basic understanding of
PLC/DCS programming, instrumentation, and process control
.Familiarity with one or more platforms (e.g.,
Allen-Bradley, Siemens, DeltaV, Schneider
).Working knowledge of
AutoCAD, Excel, or related engineering tools
is an asset.Strong
problem-solving, communication, and teamwork
skills.Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, technical environment.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
