Summary:



Working in a team environment, the

Automation Specialist

is responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of new and existing equipment. This role includes scheduling preventive or predictive maintenance and addressing all down situations.

The successful candidate will be supporting Media Resources' afternoon shift team and operations, as well as responsible for implementing and maintaining automated systems in the module plant to maximize its efficiency and effectiveness.

The primary responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:



Use technical knowledge to develop and conduct production, set machine or equipment controls, follow up on inventory and quality assurance processes. Supervise, monitor and inspect mechanical installations and machine operation. Carry out a range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials. Supervise maintenance programs or operation of mechanical equipment. Disassemble defective units and repair or replace suspect parts. Making proposals for modifications to improve current equipment including safety. Assist in preparing design, drawings and specifications. Computer-aided design (CAD) Read& interpret blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements and plan methods or sequences of operations. Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications. Solder and manually assemble various electronic components on PCB (printed circuit boards). Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports. Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports. Collect and compile operational or experimental data. Conduct work measurement or other studies. Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems. Clean and maintain equipment. Develop and carry out health, safety and fire prevention plans. Conduct safety training programs if needed. Collect and analyze data and samples in support of quality assurance and industrial health and safety programs.

Academic Training:



Bachelor's degree in engineering or completed program in electrical or mechanical technology.

Academic Training:



BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field.

Occupational Health and Safety Diploma, certificate program, or related professional designation (ASP/CSP) is an asset.

Work Experience:



Mechanical, Electronics or Instrumentation Technician or Technologist Diploma.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and an ability to read complex Mechanical/Electrical Plans, manuals and programming logic to repair a variety of service issues.

Specific Competencies:



Experience in a similar industry is an asset.

Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.

Electronic testing equipment and systems experience.

Solid knowledge of industrial processes.

Experience in Soldering equipment & Electronic controls.
