The Part-Time BaSE (Building and Systems Engineering) Supervisor is responsible for determining the appropriate corrective actions for damaged or worn equipment based on the history of breakdowns and discussions with the operations team to identify the most cost-effective solutions. This role involves dispatching BaSE Mechanics to complete conveyor system repairs and preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) while using Maximo to schedule work to ensure equipment operates smoothly and efficiently. The Supervisor monitors the status of repairs and PMI updates daily to guarantee timely completion. Additional responsibilities include updating the repair and PMI database in Maximo by processing BaSE Mechanics' timecards and completing PMI checklists to maintain equipment at optimal performance levels and ensure facility efficiency. The Supervisor also conducts facility inspections and identifies operational improvements to enhance package flow efficiency and maintain safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing the protection of physical assets, facility and equipment maintenance, and facility housekeeping to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient workplace
  • Assist in identifying and scheduling necessary repairs and preventive maintenance by coordinating with BaSE Mechanics and outside vendors to maintain the facility's condition
  • Communicate the status of assigned work to colleagues to assess potential impacts on the department's schedule
  • Assist in maintaining environmental compliance in accordance with UPS environmental programs (e.g., Storm Water, Clean Air, Hazardous Materials) to promote environmental stewardship and ensure the health and safety of UPS workers and the surrounding community
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science / Engineering (or internationally comparable degree)
  • Management experience - Preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Additional Information:
  • Job Type: Part Time Permanent/Hourly- Must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours per week.
  • Starting Pay: $22
  • Job Location: 12424 DIXIE ROAD CALEDON, ON L7C 2L7
  • Workdays: Monday to Friday (4 am to 10 am)
  • Flexibility is required as you may need to start earlier or stay later at times
