Automation Controls Engineer

Salary: 85-100K

Automation Controls Engineer will have the following Duties and Responsibilities:

Design control panels utilizing AutoCAD Electrical, generating associated shop drawings and wiring diagrams under the guidance of the Automation and Controls Manager;

Program and configure PLC and HMI systems;

Contribute insights to the project planning process, evaluating the time needed for project engineering and detailed design tasks;

Take ownership of end-to-end testing, including programming downloads, start-up, commissioning, and servicing for assigned projects;

Conduct testing and troubleshooting of HVAC systems controls and equipment during commissioning and Factory acceptance tests;

Perform point-to-point commissioning of sensors and other system inputs;

Offer support to Field Engineers during start-up and commissioning;

Update AutoCAD control panel drawings and wiring diagrams under the supervision of the Automation & Controls Manager;

Interpret control sequence logic from control philosophy documents;

Verify the calibration of system sensors and transmitters;

Complete commissioning documentation;

Automation Controls Engineer should have the following:

Bachelor\'s Degree in Instrumentation & Automation or Electrical Engineering.

8-10 years of experience in HVAC/Controls or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Familiarity with various PLC and Industrial control systems.

Experience in PLC programming and implementation (Siemens Step 7 and Logo Controller, Beijer).

Autonomous with strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills in automation.

Experience in creating panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical (or other similar software) is an asset.

Bilingual proficiency with excellent English oral and written communication skills.

Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%.

Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
