Department Overview

The Mainframe Message and Automation team within Mainframe Delivery is responsible for the Design, Deployment and Support of our secure Automation and messaging functions. We support front line day to day operations managing infrastructure tools and applications through message and system alerting and instruction and responsible for our DR Scripting via GDPS

Job Requirements

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
College / University or equivalent work experience

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Solid knowledge of Computing and Performance Management Concepts
• Solid fundamentals with one or more programming languages
• High proficiency with excel, FTP, Visio, Word
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The successful candidate must be a self-starter, team player, a quick learner and able to collaborate positively with other departments

Looking for an energetic and motivated individual seeking to dig into the world of automation within a technically diverse environment. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their skills and see the results of their efforts working within an established team focused on automation and coding standards leveraging best practices developing new capabilities and enhancing existing as well as being engaged in Disaster recovery testing and validation exercises.

Key Skills we are looking for:

• Motivated self-starter, eager to learn and determined to succeed
• Background in automation coding with a background in operations would be an asset
• College/University education within IT with specialization in coding/programming/networking/storage
• Strong communication skills both written and orally
• An individual who wants to solve problems
• An understanding of security concepts and practices
• Understanding of IBM Z series servers would be an asset.
• Ability to take initiative, to learn and develop
• Ability to contribute to team collaboration, share ideas and concepts with the intent of developing best of breed solutions.
