Job Description


The AutoCAD Technician & Technical Representative focuses on producing and revising shop drawings of our different window and door products, for review and use by contractors, architects, and installers. Assisting with product development, creating technical documents, production drawings, and installation guides, as required, this role offers a broad opportunity for skill development and multiple career advancement options.

\xe2\x80\x93 AutoCAD Technician & Technical Representative
This is a dynamic position, with multiple career advancement opportunities.

Focus on producing & revising shop drawings of our different window and door series for review and use by contractors, architects & installers. Assist with product development, creating technical documents, production drawings and installation guides as required. Provide in-house technical support and document changes in parts & processes as required. Effectively communicate and coordinate changes to drawings and procedures. Manage multiple projects and tasks at a time.

Responsibilities include:

Drafting:

  • Produce accurate, high-quality shop drawings
  • Produce revisions to existing shop drawings
  • Update and modify Cascadia\xe2\x80\x99s standard installation details and product drawings as needed
  • Produce dimensioned drawings for non-standard fabrications, to supplement production documents for the manufacturing shop when required
  • Provide in-house shop drawing review when required
  • Assist with building Window Wall detail library
Technical Support:
  • When requested, perform technical/code compliance review of window and door configurations prior to issuing quotations and contracts
  • Assist Senior Technical Resource Manager as required with various technical-related tasks
  • Assist with documenting window manufacturing parts and processes, and update as required
  • Provide technical support to clients, architect, and Cascadia team when required
  • Provide technical support to the Cascadia team
  • Develop new architectural details for use by our clients
Other Activities:
  • Continuously learn more about our industry and our products
Skills and Qualifications:
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • An architectural drawing or shop drawing comprehension.
  • Education in building envelope technology and/or building science.
  • Revit and/or AutoDesk Inventor experience.
  • Experience in MS Word, and Excel, and working with an ERP/CRM system is beneficial.
  • Desktop publishing skills, including MS Word formatting, and document preparation and strong command of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Work experience in window and window wall manufacturing and/or high-rise construction.
