The design studio at Northland Properties specializes in creating exceptional hospitality interiors. As an Interior Designer CAD Technician, you will focus on playing a crucial role in both new-build and renovation projects, and your key duties will include:Using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) tools and software (AutoCAD), create and/ or modify technical interior design drawing sets, including Floor Plans, Furniture Plans, Interior Elevations, Sections, & Details, Reflected Ceiling Plans, Electrical Plans, Millwork & Furniture Drawings, and any other drawings required for interior design plan and specification integration.
Provide technical expertise and support in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) within the interior design department.
Support interior designers in planning and drafting plans.
Analyze, review, and mark-up technical drawings developed by Interior Designers.
Review Shop Drawings.
Research local, national, and international Building Code and American Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, aligned to project locations across Canada and the USA.
Understand design principles, qualities of materials, and ergonomic factors.
Maintain accurate records and documents of all CADD work.
Participate in project meetings.
Apply strong working knowledge of computer-aided design (AutoCAD) software programs.
Utilize strong problem-solving skills and work independently with minimal supervision.
Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland PropertiesWhat are we looking for?Minimum 3 years of experience in similar roles
Excellent AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office skills.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at various stages of development.
Versatile and flexible, with excellent creative and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of hotel and restaurant furnishings, manufacturers for furniture systems, fixtures, and finish-related materials, with the ability to direct sourcing and researching, as appropriate.
Knowledge of millwork and detailing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Collaborative and professional work ethic.
