Description
Trafalgar Engineering has an immediate opening for the full-time position of an AutoCAD Operator. Five plus (5+) years of relevant experience is required. Responsibilities are outlined in further detail below, but generally include (though not limited to) the preparation of AutoCAD drawings illustrating the design of stormwater management facilities, storm and sanitary sewers, watermains, and grading. Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D pipe networks, alignments, road corridors, feature lines, surfaces, and grading is required. The successful candidate must be dedicated to providing quality service to protect the interests of the client and the public. A strong sense of ownership over their work and the responsibility they hold, along with fostering long-term relationships is key to fitting in with Trafalgar Engineering's culture.
Responsibilities
Completion of engineering design and/or drawings for municipal and site servicing and grading in both 2D and 3D.
Utilize Civil 3D pipe networks, alignments, road corridors, and feature lines to aid in the preparation of designs and drawings.
Drafting of roadways, storm and sanitary sewers and water mains (industrial and residential).
Providing quality assurance and drawing review with a strong eye for detail, presentation, and accuracy.
Undertake earthworks calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and perform quantity takeoffs.
Understanding, using, and adhering to Trafalgar CAD standards.
Assist in the improvement of Trafalgar CAD standards.
Adhere to drawing conventions and client directed standards.
Maintain paper and electronic drawing file organization for projects

Qualifications
Must be proactive and eager to grow and develop in role.
Diploma in Civil Engineering, Certified Technician or Technologist or eligibility for registration with OACETT is required.
Five plus (5+) years of relevant experience is required.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
Familiarity with local municipal standards (OPSD, etc.).
Strong technical communication skills.
Highly organized with the ability to undertake multiple concurrent projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to work in an office environment with flexibility for additional hours depending on project deadlines as needed
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
