Andy's Tire Shop is seeking a block 1 to 3 Mechanic Apprentice for our

Kingston or New Minas location

. The apprentice is responsible for ensuring that services are performed safely, efficiently and at a high standard of quality under the eye of the on site Red Seal Mechanic.

Key Accountabilities

Perform brake work, oil changes, front end work, alignments, tire removal, installation, and repair services safely for all passenger and light truck vehicles. This includes removing wheel assemblies, dismounting tires, balancing, inflating, and installing repaired, or, replacement tires, and reinstalling wheel assemblies according to standard operating procedures. All work is to be completed under the supervision of certified Red Seal Mechanic.

Conduct diagnostics, evaluate reparability of damage, choose and complete proper repair methods.

Follow work orders?procedures?and?communicate?with front counter staff the work?done?and the work required.

Maintain?a high level of?cleanliness?and professionalism to represent a positive company image.

Requirements

Previous experience working in automotive as an apprentice,

tire tech, trades, or light-industrial environment.
Well-presented, professional team player who takes initiative to get the job done.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong aptitude for learning.

Demonstrated personal commitment to health and safety.

Completion of Criminal background check and drivers abstract is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
