Auto Body Technician

Preferably Red Seal but open to those with experience as well.

The Body Technician is required to supply their own tools, perform skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of vehicles. They restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. They use hand tools and power tools to remove or repair damaged parts, weld as needed, and properly install new parts. The Body Technician works with a variety of metals and plastics, as well as glass, electrical, and mechanical parts. Damaged vehicles must be repaired correctly so they will perform as designed, especially in subsequent collisions. The Body Technician will effectively collaborate with the paint department to achieve efficient vehicle flow.

Duties include but not limited to:

Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and under body components as per manufacturer's specifications.

Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers.

Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.

File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand, air and power tools.

Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.

Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure the achievement of quality standards in restoration and repair, in order to reduce and eliminate re-work and warranty claims.

Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations.

Other related tasks as required.

This job would be full time Monday to Friday with competitive wages in a small friendly family like environment located at 1707 Highway 359 Centreville B0P1J0.
