Our office in Niagara Falls, ON, is looking for a Auto Body and Collision Technician Apprentice 310B to join our team.


Summary of the Role

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Auto Body and Collision Technician Apprentice is responsible for repairing and restoring damaged motor vehicles including but not limited to: performing safety-related functions, using tools and equipment, use of welding equipment, organizing work and documentation, removing and installing vehicle components, surface preparation, applying refinishing materials, detailing, remove and install structural glass, servicing SRS systems, structural repair, and servicing mechanical and electrical systems.


Key Responsibilities

Perform safety-related functions. Use and maintain tools, welding equipment, and other related equipment items. Effectively organize tasks and ensure to document as required. Apply corrosion protection and sound deadening materials. Remove and install trim and weather strips. Perform inspection as required. Prepare for repair and replacement of structural components. Remove, repair and install structural components, structural glass, metal panels and components, plastic and composite panels and components as well as electrical components. Remove and install non-structural glass and mechanical components. Deactivate and reactivate alternate-fuel systems. Repair and replace interior components. Service supplemental restraint systems (SRS). Prepare surfaces. Use fillers, primers and surfacers. Prepare and apply refinishing materials. Clean and detail vehicle exterior and interior. Other duties as required

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

Enrollment in the Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer (Technician) Apprenticeship Program (310B) or demonstrated relevant work experience. Auto Body and Collision Repair experience is an asset. Experience working as a Mechanic is an asset. WHMIS and additional environmental health and safety training is an asset. Welding experience an asset. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work well as part of a team. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required.
