Job Summary

Provide in-home assistance after-school/early evenings

Duties

Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, as well as play and educational activities. Provide individualized support for two children (one of which has high functioning ASD) during in home activities, ensuring a positive environment. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed. Encourage social skills development through structured activities and play. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for individuals with autism. Document observations and progress reports to communicate effectively with the team.

Skills

Autism training or willingness to do online modules such as POPARD (on paid time) Previous experience working with children with disabilities is highly valued, especially ASD A background in early childhood education, disability, education, child and youth care or equivalent. Experience with children is crucial for building rapport and trust. Caregiving skills are necessary for providing compassionate support in daily activities. This role requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that promotes growth and independence for individuals with autism.
