About the Position
This is a
100% fully remote
position for one of the top 20 accounting firms in Canada.

As an Intermediate Accountant you will be working on assignments under the direct supervision of a Senior, Manager, Director and/or Partner for all types of audit & assurance engagements for mostly smaller and mid-sized public companies
. You will be working in a broad range of industries on a variety of engagements, including emerging industries such as cannabis and psychedelics, along with investment funds, financial institutions, health care and pension plans.
Summary of Responsibilities
Completing and overseeing others' work on audit files
Coaching Junior Accountants by providing input and expertise where necessary
Building effective and long lasting working relationships on assignments with operational client contacts
Provide valuable suggestions and contributions related to various assignments and projects
Perform research and prepare more complex opinions for technical conclusions on client engagements
Preparing complex areas of the file
Co-ordinating group audits with component auditors in other cities and countries
Reviewing work completed by Junior Accountant team members
Responding effectively and efficiently to client, manager and partner requests
Summary of Responsibilities
Planning, execution and completion of audit files
Understanding technical standards with the expected level of assistance and supervision
Ability to recognize relevant accounting and audit issues from basic analysis

Building effective working client relationships on assignments with operational client contacts
Managing allocated projects or assignments, including time management
Responding effectively to client, manager and partner requests and suggestions relating to an assignment
Supervising and training junior staff
maintaining technical knowledge - IFRS, ASPE, CAS - by: attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks
Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Summary of Experience
2+ years of audit experience
Requirements:
Possessing leadership qualities and ability to support team members and goals
Strong commitment to quality
CPA designation or at least substantial progress thereto
Knowledge and experience working with IFRS, ASPE and CAS to be able to complete complex areas of an engagement
Must be a motivated self starter who maintains focus while working remotely
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate well with clients, managers and partners
Strong file management skills and organization
Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Experience with Caseware
International applicants with no Canadian experience must have IFRS experience
