Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Chief Administrative Officer and under the supervision of the AV and Event Services Lead, the Audio-Visual Event Technician is the primary onsite/day of contact and is responsible for providing a broad range of moderately complex audio visual and media servicesat live, hybrid, and online events at Innis College.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as the first point of onsite contact for the technical execution and presentation aspects of live show operations, hybrid and online events.
Working closely with venue coordinators on the execution and success of rental events.
Live show operations, including: the projection of digital screening materials to industry standards, including DCI compliant material, operating audio consoles, microphones, and PA systems, operating and programming lighting consoles, operating cameras, video switching and projection equipment, operating recording and live streaming software.
Setting-up and maintaining audio/visual systems
Pre-testing audio-visual equipment
Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
Listening actively to clients with concerns.
Reporting of technical and event operations and metrics to management.
Essential Qualifications:
College Diploma (2 years) in Audio-Visual Services or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Minimum two years of recent and related experience working with a variety of audio-visual and film projection equipment.
Experience screening films, videos and other related presentations.
Advanced working knowledge of Mac OS, Windows OS and Microsoft Office suite.
Experience setting up, testing,operating, troubleshooting, and taking down equipment for events.
Experience maintaining knowledge and process documents.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, with ability to successfully convey technical information to clients with varying levels of technical knowledge.
Demonstrated creativity, manual dexterity, initiative, considerable judgment and attention to detail.
Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately, prioritize, and deal with multiple tasks to ensure all deadlines are met.
Ability to demonstrate good judgement, tact and diplomacy in working with multiple stakeholders.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Assets (Nonessential):
Experience with digital cinema and analog film projectors and live sound and lighting.
