As an Audiologist at the Glenrose, you will have the opportunity to work with patients who range in age from infants to older adults. The ideal candidate has worked with pediatric patients completing assessments with children who have developmental disabilities and complex needs. An ability to adapt to changing demands in order to support the team approach is essential in a successful candidate. This service exclusively serves individuals with complex or urgent needs, and comfort with unpredictable circumstances/needs is important. Description:

As an Audiologist, you will be working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, where you will be responsible for the screening, identification, assessment and management of patients (clients) presenting with hearing and balance (vestibular) disorders. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will be important to you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform program development and planning. You will interpret findings, provide counselling regarding hearing loss and balance dysfunction, and establish appropriate intervention plans to manage and reduce the functional impact of hearing loss. You will provide patients, their families and other professionals with information and recommendations; making referrals to other agencies and professionals as required.

Required Qualifications:

Master\'s degree in Audiology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA). Additional Required Qualifications:

Physically able to complete the demands of the role, including but not limited to kneeling, sitting on the ground, bending and reaching as well as carrying equipment. Willingness to be trained to work in assessment and clinical management of infants and preschool children. Willingness to be trained for videonystagmography (VNG) assessment as needed. Must be able to be self-directed and to work effectively both independently and as a part of a collaborative team. Proficiency with various computer applications including word processing, e-mail, Internet access and data entry. Must demonstrate a strong patient/family centered approach to care. Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in newborn infant hearing screening and educational audiology. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams. ABR (Auditory Brain Response) testing experience. Experience with videonystagmography (VNG) testing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Outlook, Word, etc.). Training and experience in Connect Care/Meditech.
