JOB DESCRIPTION - Audio Visual Operations Manager (ON)ABOUT USAPG Rentals is a leading LED Video Screen, LCD Videowall, Large Format Flat Screen Display and Touchscreen specialist supplying North American national coverage from our Oakville ON (Toronto) and Orlando FL offices. Established in 2006, APG Rentals offers production installation, operation and support services to Live Event Rental Staging, Broadcast, Exhibitor and Special Events industries.SUMMARY OF ROLEThe Operations Manager will provide key support for the success of daily operations within the APG Rentals Department Warehouse and ensure projects are completed to the fulfilment of APG Management and Clients. Role reports to the APG Operations Director and works from the APG Rentals Oakville ON office location.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*Assist Operations Director with the development, implementation, monitoring and modification of APG policies, processes and procedures.*Project Managers; Technicians; Warehouse and Logistics personnel will report to the Operations Manager.*Provide guidance to and ensure that all reporting personnel clearly understand the expectations associated with each of their roles.*Supervise the internal team during the preparing of equipment orders for live event rental projects. This includes the pulling, packing, check-out, loading, check-in, re-stocking of all equipment assets.*Provide warehouse procedure, guidance and direction to APG and contractor personnel.*Ensure that all existing and new personnel are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties as stated in each of their job descriptions and contracts.*Ensure all warehouse and site safety protocols are adhered to.*Work in conjunction with the Operations Director and the Business Development department to assign the appropriate Tech-Project Manager to any given job.*Develop preferred method of reporting from Techs-Project Managers during and post job rental.*Develop guidelines and process with regards to hiring contract & freelance labour. Maintain an updated directory of contract & freelance personnel.*Finalize and document process flow for any rental opportunity from confirmation to successful completion and return of rental equipment.*Assist with the review, recommendation and implementation of appropriate IntelliEvent procedures for Operations, Logistics, Warehouse and Business Development.*Verify and help maintain accurate equipment inventory totals at both APG warehouse locations.*Communicate successfully with APG Orlando personnel to ensure appropriate and cost- effective distribution and exchange of equipment and personnel assets as required.*Establish a quality control process for equipment leaving the building pre-rental and returning to the warehouse post-rental. Ensure damaged rental equipment is invoiced and managed appropriately.*Establish a process for required equipment maintenance and associated documentation records.*Operations Manager to have clear understanding and knowledge of equipment shipping logistics and required associated documents. To assist Logistics Department as needed.*Contact, negotiate, secure equipment cross rental rates with other suppliers if/when Business Development personnel require assistance.*Operations Manager to have a clear understanding and knowledge with regards to generating required Purchase Orders.*Monitor project costs on a regular ongoing basis. Communicate any changes with Operations Director and Business Development personnel. Operations Manager will be asked to approve project invoices; time sheets and verify all appropriate documents are submitted to the accounting department in a timely manner.*Participate in the personnel review process with the Operations Director as required from time to time.*Attend production meetings with assigned Project Managers as required.*Unless directed otherwise, office work hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday.*Based on the nature of the APG Rentals business and this position, projects may require non-traditional working hours such as early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays.*Based on the nature of APG Rentals business and this position, the Operations Manager is expected to maintain an On Call status which involves monitoring of email and phone communication and the willingness to respond with feedback during non-traditional hours of operation.QUALIFICATIONS*Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar audio-visual environment role.*Knowledge of current LED display and other audio-visual technologies.*Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.*Working knowledge of IntelliEvent preferred.*Ability to supervise the work of others.*Knowledge of competitors and competitive technology.*Excellent verbal and written skills.*CAD or other drawing application expertise an asset.*Ability to travel domestically and abroad.*Clean background record.*COVID 19 vaccinated.*Maintain a legal driver's license.*Legal to work in Canada.*Ontario and greater Toronto area resident.BENEFITS*Technology including company laptop and cell phone.*3 weeks paid vacation per year to start.*Employer paid group benefits.COMPENSATION*To be negotiated pending experience.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $25.00-$30.00 per hourBenefits:
