Beck Auctions is a small auction house in Edmonton known for being the "Friendliest Auction House in the West"! We are a fast-paced and exciting work environment with a diverse set of clientele and never ending treasures coming through our doors!

Our team is looking to hire a full-time position with someone who is interested in consistent hours and promotion opportunities. An auction house associate plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of auction events and daily activities. This position involves a blend of administrative tasks, client services, inventory management, and hands-on involvement during auction events. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Client Services:

Greet clients and provide assistance with inquiries regarding auction items and procedures. Facilitate bidder registration and provide bidding paddles during live auctions. Assist clients with consignment drop-offs and post-auction pickups, ensuring accurate documentation.
Inventory Management:

Catalog and inventory auction items, including photographing and describing items for auction catalogs and online listings. Maintain and update the auction catalog with detailed and accurate entries. Organize and manage the physical inventory, ensuring items are stored securely and are easily accessible.
Auction Preparation and Execution:

Assist in the setup and breakdown of auction events, including merchandise displays. Support the auctioneer during live auctions by spotting bids and managing phone bids. Manage online auction platforms and assist with virtual bidding processes.
Administrative Support:

Prepare auction catalogs and promotional materials. Handle clerical tasks such as data entry, documentation, and record-keeping. Ensure compliance with all relevant auction laws and regulations.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Reliable transportation throughout the city and to surrounding municipalities Previous experience in the auction industry or a related field is preferred. Proficiency with computers Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. Familiarity with marketing and promotional strategies for auctions. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Good physical stamina for setup and breakdown tasks We are looking for capable and organized individuals with good customer service. You will be lotting auctions, answering phones, and assisting clients during drop-offs and pick-ups. A valid drivers license is required, as well as a clean criminal background check.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

Shift:

10 hour shift 8 hour shift
Work days:

Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:

Edmonton, AB T5Y 6H5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:

Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:

sales: 1 year (preferred) Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

Driving Licence (required)
