Responsibilities

PRIMARY PURPOSE



Facilitates day-to-day delivery of BCRTC's attendance management program, and acts as custodian and administrator of the attendance management tracking system. Supports early awareness and informal engagement strategies to promote employee wellness and attendance consistency.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES



Provides advice and training to all levels of managers/supervisors in the interpretation and application of the attendance program and related tracking system.



Profiles individual attendance concerns and liaises with managers to recommend informal meetings and check-ins before formal thresholds are reached.



Research best practices and emerging trends in attendance management, and also maintains awareness of relevant court rulings and arbitration decisions.



Develops/modifies and recommends attendance management program practices, policies and procedures; and takes action to implement approved changes.



Acts as custodian and administrator of the attendance management tracking system, continuously updating information, ensuring data integrity, administering system access, and participating in system upgrades and testing.



Creates system-based reports including configuration set-up to monitor attendance trends and highlight issues. Extracts and analyzes attendance data to generate statistical reports at regular intervals.



Identifies and profiles individual employee attendance concerns and improvements. Liaises with managers/supervisors to plan and recommend appropriate interventions and communications at key intervals.



Provides support on attendance-related grievances by reviewing cases, providing input and preparing required information and materials.



Develops and continuously updates attendance management training brochures and other materials.



Monitors attendance patterns and flags early indicators to encourage supportive conversations.



Responds to attendance management FOI requests.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



The requirements for this job are typically acquired through a certificate or diploma in a related discipline, and four years of related experience.



OTHER REQUIREMENTS



Solid knowledge of the practices and techniques of attendance management



Solid interpersonal skills to provide advice and recommendations on attendance management



Solid planning and organization skills to coordinate and facilitate attendance management services



Solid problem solving and decision-making skills to recommend appropriate interventions and communication on attendance matters



Solid analytical skills to identify and analyze attendance trends and issues; and to generate statistical reports



Basic knowledge of case law as it pertains to understanding attendance-related decisions and rulings



Solid system-based skills as they pertain to the attendance management tracking system

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

The salary for this position ranges from $69,600 - $104,400 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
