Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Specialist
to join our team in Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and interpreting federal Access to Information and Privacy legislation, processing complex requests, and liaising with oversight bodies to ensure compliance with applicable policies and directives.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and interpret the Access to Information Act and Privacy Act, associated regulations, and TBS policies and directives.
Process complex and voluminous Access to Information and/or Privacy Act requests.
Handle requests related to one or more of the following:
Harassment, grievance, and/or workplace violence
Defence intelligence and/or national security information
Police investigations, military justice including summary trials and/or courts martial
Defence procurement
Liaise with the Office of the Information Commissioner to resolve formal complaints, including responding to orders issued by the Information Commissioner.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience within the last 15 years administering and interpreting Access to Information and/or Privacy legislation, regulations, and TBS policies and directives.
Minimum of 10 years of experience within the last 15 years processing complex and voluminous requests under the Access to Information and/or Privacy Act.
Demonstrated experience processing requests related to one or more of the areas listed above.
Experience liaising with the Office of the Information Commissioner in resolving formal complaints.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to obtain and maintain Reliability or Secret security clearance.

Pay: $75.00-$95.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
