to join our dynamic team at our Calgary WinSport location. This is a pivotal role within our organization, where you will collaborate with Sport Medicine Physicians and help patients achieve their health goals through evidence-based care and the Patient Health Journey (PHJ) framework.

Position Summary




As an

Athletic Therapist

, you will play a vital role in bridging physician expertise with patient care throughout the RiseAbove treatment journey. Collaborating closely with Sport Medicine Physicians and other healthcare professionals, you will leverage your skills in injury assessment, rehabilitation, and patient education to guide patients toward recovery and long-term wellness. You'll help patients set and achieve SMART health goals, ensure their treatment plans reflect their personal priorities, and contribute to clinic efficiency and a positive patient experience.

Duties and Responsibilities



Patient Journey Leadership



Support patients throughout their RiseAbove treatment journey, helping them set and achieve SMART health goals. Demonstrate knowledge of Group23's purpose, mission, values, and key objectives.

Care Team Collaboration



Work directly with patients booked with Sport Medicine Physicians, providing integrated, team-based care. Foster effective collaboration with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in formal, scheduled patient care conferences with supervising physicians.

Clinical Documentation & EMR Stewardship



Conduct accurate patient histories and physical examinations of musculoskeletal injuries. Document findings in a timely manner using EMR (e.g., TELUS CHR). Facilitate patient care using EMR, including scheduling, data entry, charting, consultation reports, requisitions, and referral letters under physician direction.

Patient Progress & Care Coordination



Participate in patient follow-ups (phone, email, and in-person) to answer questions, ensure progress toward RiseAbove goals, and coordinate care with the broader healthcare team.

Clinic Operations & Compliance



Maintain clinic operations by following established policies and procedures and reporting of needed changes. Ensure compliance with privacy legislation, OH&S, and IPAC policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)



Knowledge



Medical terminology, musculoskeletal anatomy, and injuries Corporate purpose, mission, values, business objectives Privacy legislation relevant to healthcare and business operations OH&S and IPAC policies

Skills



Proficient with MS Office Suite (365), including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams Excellent judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities Effective verbal and written communication Strong interpersonal skills; analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

Abilities

Qualifications



Bachelor's or post-graduate degree in Athletic Therapy from an accredited institution Certified Athletic Therapist in good standing with the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association (CATA) 1-2 years' experience in clinical practice preferred, including clerical functions Experience in customer service is an asset Experience with TELUS CHR EMR is an asset Healthcare or Basic CPR certification preferred upon hire Police Information Check required upon hire and as requested
