About the role

ATB 101 is a 4 month work experience and engagement program with a summer intake! Our ATB 101 students play an integral role in the success of our business. As an ATB 101 student you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to ATB through challenging, meaningful and diverse opportunities and make a positive impact for our clients and each other. Oh and we promise you'll have a lot of fun doing it!

The Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting Team (ICOFR) is an assurance function that ensures the processes that affect ATB's financial reporting are appropriately designed and reliable. Our work provides assurance to the executive management team that ATB's financial reporting is free from material errors by establishment of reliable systems and controls.


As an ATB 101

Internal Controls Student

within the ICOFR team, you will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of internal controls over financial reporting through assisting team members in assessing the design of financial and general IT related controls within the program. You will gain experience with different IT applications used in financial reporting and work with organizational governance tools such as MetricStream GRC. This will also be a great opportunity to gain a breadth of organizational process knowledge and establish professional relationships with internal stakeholders throughout different areas of the business.


Accountabilities
Testing, and assisting management in assessing, the design of financial, IT general computing and IT application controls. Documenting test results and findings in the MetricStream Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) application. Assist in documenting financial risks and controls within business processes using our GRC (Governance Risk and Compliance) tool. Assist in the preparation of the quarterly Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) Certifications for the CEO/CFO and assessment of results. Gain an understanding of a wide breadth of banking processes and work with internal business process owners to update process narrative documents. Assist with updating and ongoing maintenance of internal methodology operating guides. Maintaining and enhancing professional relationships with internal stakeholders
Requirements for ATB 101
Be passionate and motivated about pursuing a career in accounting and/or finance Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate from a degree program with a specialization in Accounting or Finance. Have a strong working knowledge of Excel, Google and Tableau. Have a passion for data analytics and database management. Be able to effectively prioritize and manage your time well. Have a strong sense of personal accountability. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and is personally accountable to ensure that deliverables are on time and of strong quality. Come with an analytical mind. Be confident to ask questions, seek information, dissect problems, and suggest innovative solutions. Eager to roll up your sleeves and take on new challenges. Be humble and confident. We encourage you to put your hand up and ask for help, when needed. After all, we are all united in our goal of customer obsession. A curious mind, a person that is always asking why but is able to balance that with extremely strong execution.
Additional Information

This is a temporary 4 month opportunity. This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means 1 day on-site a week. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.
