Qualifications & Duties:
Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Metis and Inuit for the benefit of all students, and support the Division's goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
Possess a Bachelor of Education and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
College Certificate in Catholic Education is considered an asset.
Experience and/or specialization in Early Childhood Education.
Fluently bilingual in French and English in order to teach in French and communicate with parents in English.
Experience working with children who have diverse learning needs and who require specialized accommodations and strategies to support those needs.
Develop and deliver programming for Nature-Kindergarten.
Explore early learning play experiences in outdoor learning environments: including art, music and drama.
Collaborate in the creation of developmentally appropriate play experiences.
Knowledge of early learning specialization, including child development, communication, emergent curriculum and environments.
Create experiences to support the exploration of the world around us, especially within nature, while supporting language and communication with a learn-through-play philosophy.
Experience using specific proactive strategies such as visual supports, sensory supports, positive behavior support strategies and communication strategies.
Strong focus on literacy and numeracy.
Experience with the implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPP's).
Committed to working as a collaborative team with and Educational Assistant.
Good interpersonal skills working closely with families.
Experience/Interest in using various technology tools to assist learning (e.g. SmartBoards and iPads).
Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm.
