What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing

The structuring team within WSG, and in this role the analyst/associate supports the origination and maintenance of Structured Solutions offered to our Wealth clients. Products include Structured Notes, MLGICs and QIS strategies. The successful candidate will be focused on supporting the origination and administration of our products and tasks will include pricing various derivative-based structures with cross asset exposure, data analysis, market research, process automation and operations. This role is an opportunity for someone looking to grow their skill set and knowledge of Global Markets & Capital Markets in general.

How you\xe2\x80\x99ll succeed

Idea generation. Pro-actively generate derivative product ideas that are value-add to our client-base

Analysis. Perform various analytical analysis in support of new product development as well as big data management

Automation. Assist in process automation and implementation of new controls to reduce operational risks and decrease inefficiencies using programming and/or other analytical tools

Collaboration and effectiveness. Quickly and efficiently respond to pricing requests from sales staff and clients while assisting in maintaining and updating our website (www.CIBCnotes.com)

Documentation. Assisting the Advisory Group with Documentation origination and management of the documentation process; creating presentations

Taking initiative. Tracking noteworthy structured products released domestically and internationally while developing product knowledge through directed or self-directed study; Willing to cross train when the appropriate time arises, as suggested by management; Share any developed skills, knowledge, ideas with management and other members of Global Markets and attend learning sessions held by the Trading Room as required

Who you are

You have an undergraduate university degree. Knowledge of Derivatives would be considered an asset. Knowledge of the brokerage industry, wealth management, structured products, derivatives and financial markets

You have advanced quantitative skills. Excellent working knowledge of PC applications (Excel, Word, Power Point). Strong working knowledge of VBA and advanced analytical and conceptual skills. You also possess database programming experience (SQL). Additional coding experience with Python, C#, and/or Java would be considered an asset

You are passionate about delivering results. Proven ability to pay close attention to detail and able to quickly acquire knowledge, to demonstrate competence and to add value to the maintenance of internal processes and client relationships through team work and partnerships

You have sophisticated communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills
