The University of Guelph is seeking an experienced and innovative professional to serve as the Associate Vice-
President and Chief Information Of icer (CIO). Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) and
working collaboratively with the University\'s senior leadership team, the CIO will be responsible for providing
strategic and transformational leadership for the University\'s information technology (IT) functions, as well as
overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of al technology services across campus. The CIO
provides expert advice to the Board of Governors and leadership to Computing and Communications Services
(CCS), which is the University\'s central IT unit, and shares responsibility for various IT units distributed across
campus through co-reporting relationships with other senior leaders. The CIO plays a key institutional role in
fostering a campus-wide IT community committed to working col ectively through the delivery, support, and
maintenance of academic, administrative, and campus IT services.
The CIO wil bring executive-level experience in IT leadership, preferably earned in a post-secondary institution
or a public institution of similar complexity. They will have a strong orientation to strategy and a deep
commitment to engaging the community and to outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate possesses
strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with demonstrated success in developing
and overseeing strategic IT service plans and implementing large and complex transformational initiatives. The
CIO will be a superb communicator with excel ent interpersonal skil s and experience presenting to senior
decision makers and governors. Additionally, the new CIO wil have led and inspired diverse teams to achieve
alignment with institutional and academic objectives.
