This role is critical in ensuring that CIBC and its third parties remain operational resilient, can effectively respond to disruptions within CIBCs risk tolerance, and CIBC maintains compliance with regulatory requirements. In carrying out this mandate, this role will provide leadership, oversight and effective challenge in risk management processes, tools and programs, including internal control reviews to assess operational effectiveness, deficiency management, and risk monitoring. The AVP works in close partnership with business unit management, control groups and peers in Risk Management to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach of delivery and information.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Youll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where youll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How youll succeedStrategic oversight and collaborative guidance Provide an independent perspective on operational resilience practices, in addition to operational risk and controls to effectively manage third party and business continuity risks. In partnership with Business Unit Management and their executive leaders, and in accordance with the Operational Risk Management Framework and the Control Framework, provide guidance, challenge and oversight in the assessment and establishment of internal controls and treatment of risks.Collaboration, relationship building and effective challenge - Establish strong working relationships across all business units and control groups, with a goal to develop heightened awareness and provide effective challenge regarding operational resilience, third party risk management and business continuity risk management across the bank.Operational risk oversight and support - Lead and support operational risk tools and programs (eg. RAS/KRI, CIRA, RCSA, Operational Incident Report, Risk Reviews, Control and Deficiency Management, Objective Assessment, etc.) where AVP mandate has coverage, including providing portfolio management support.Risk governance and regulatory compliance - Work closely with GORM peers and key stakeholders to ensure relevant frameworks, policies, and standards are operationalized, monitored for compliance and effectively challenged, and adhere to regulatory requirements. Provide executive and Board level support regarding CIBCs operational resilience posture.People leadership and team development - Provide people leadership to develop the team and provide direction necessary to achieve strategic, business, and financial plans.Who you areYou can demonstrate experience in and have advanced knowledge of processes within the Operational Resilience, Third Party Risk Management, Business Continuity Management domains and strong knowledge in other activities that support operational resilience including Technology, Cyber and Data.Youre a certified professional. Advanced degree in Business or related field or equivalent professional experience with a minimum of 10-15 industry-related experience.You give meaning to data.
