Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive physical examinations on dogs and cats to assess health and diagnose medical conditions.
Develop and implement treatment plans for a wide range of conditions, including internal medicine, dermatology, and chronic disease management.
Perform routine surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, and dental cleanings (additional soft tissue surgery skills are a plus).
Administer vaccinations, medications, and other preventive care treatments.
Provide emergency and critical care to patients requiring immediate attention.
Educate pet owners on wellness care, nutrition, behavioral issues, and disease prevention.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver efficient and compassionate care.
Stay current with developments in small animal veterinary medicine through continuing education.
Skills & Qualifications
DVM or equivalent degree and licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice veterinary medicine.
Experience in small animal general practice, urgent care, or internal medicine preferred.
Proficiency in handling and restraining cats and dogs safely and humanely.
Familiarity with common diagnostic tools such as digital radiography, in-house lab equipment, and dental units.
Surgical experience in routine procedures for dogs and cats is strongly preferred.
Strong client communication skills with a commitment to education and empathy.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and familiarity with small animal anesthesia protocols.
Experience with companion animal dentistry is a plus.
