Job Overview


We are seeking a veterinarian to add to our recently expanded 2 veterinarian practice in a brand new facility in a small community located 20 minutes outside of Barrie and Wasaga Beach. We are a locally and independently owned small animal practice focusing solely on dogs and cats with high quality relationship-centered medicine. We have a great support staff with a high support staff: DVM ratio. We have on-site imaging including x-ray and clarius ultrasound; and in-clinic blood work capabilities with separate surgical and dental suites. Our clinic is also supported by mobile internal medicine, surgical and orthopedic specialists to assist with more advanced cases. There is no on-call required as there are numerous after-hour providers in our area.

Our veterinarians thrive with a work-life balance consisting of no more than 4 days per work week. A candidate's schedule can be flexible allowing for 2 to 4 days coverage with 1 Saturday per month. We are closed all long weekends for personal recharge time.

Responsibilities



Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions. Administer vaccinations and medications as needed for preventative care or treatment. Perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and other necessary operations. Interpret laboratory results and perform diagnostic tests to determine the best course of treatment. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, documenting treatments and progress. We are Avimark based. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' health, treatment options, and preventive care practices. Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure the highest level of care is provided. Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Requirements



Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school. Valid license from CVO. Strong clinical skills with experience in both routine care and emergency situations. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Experience or familiarity with laboratory procedures is preferred but not required. A commitment to providing exceptional veterinary care through superior client communication and service.

Pay: $90.00-$110.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
