GENERAL FUNCTION
You will be responsible for cleaning and assembling the lenses on the baskets, continuously supplying the machines with product, inspecting the lenses by following established procedures.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday (day shift) but may be subject to change depending on operational and business needs, potentially requiring employees to work weekends and holidays as well.
You may need to work different hours in the beginning for training purposes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Careful handling of lens to avoid scratches
Sort lenses onto rack by size and required coating
Inspecting baskets and hangers for good condition before use
Clipping lenses securely and correctly onto basket
Inspect bifocal lens for correctness before putting into machine
Load and Empty baskets from machine as needed
Maintain cleanliness of deionized water bath
Cleaning machine with proper personal protective equipment
Verify the lenses match prescription after training
Visually inspecting lens for quality, using Essilor tolerance chart and record information
Transfer lenses from baskets onto trays for oven to cure
Separate rejected from approved lenses for rework according to protocol
Use a barcode reader to scan prescription to track the jobs
Inform team leader of non-conformities
Meeting physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing. Lifting heavy objects between 10-15 lbs. and handling chemicals. Operating tools and wearing PPE.
Assist within the operations department as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Job experience will be considered in place of High school diploma or GED
Proficient in English (ability to read, write and speak fluently)
Manufacturing experience a plus
The ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment Depth perception, use of fine motor skills and manual dexterity
The ability to handle multiple requests effectively in a fast-paced environment
Solid problem-solving skills
The ability to follow directions
A track record demonstrating responsibility and reliability
Will be organized and will have manual dexterity
