Homenick Law is seeking an associate lawyer to join our busy firm in beautiful Sussex, New Brunswick.
About Us
At Homenick Law, we believe law should be modern, strategic, and grounded. We are approachable to clients and pragmatic in pursuit of meaningful outcomes.
We're not about bums in seats or clock-watching. We're about making an impact: delivering excellent work, supporting our community, and building a firm that empowers its people.
Our values include a relentless focus on clients, making things simple and useful, and creating a client-centric experience in law. We have other values too, but those are table stakes: transparency, integrity, authenticity, fairness, open communication, balance, and autonomy. In short, we're building a place where every team member is supported, energized, and proud of the impact they make.
About You
We're looking for a colleague who will build a reputation as a measured, thoughtful, and prepared advocate. Someone who takes strong but reasonable positions and values candour over posturing.
As an associate in a small-town firm, you'll see a wide range of work. Most of your files will be in family law, estate planning and real property, but you'll also have opportunities to work with clients in manufacturing, property development, energy and natural resources, fisheries, and agribusiness & food.
On our team, you'll be given a steady flow of files and the autonomy to manage them independently. While we will support your development as a lawyer, you'll be expected to take ownership of your practice and grow your expertise - particularly in family law and estate planning related matters.
The Ideal Associate
2-5 years post-call, member in good standing (or eligible) with the Law Society of New Brunswick;
Comfortable managing your own files and client relationships;
Excited by the mix of small-town life and big-impact work;
Thrives in a focused four-day work week;
Why Apply
We are always on the lookout for committed and passionate professionals. If you meet some of the qualifications and are determined to make a difference, we encourage you to apply. We promise to consider your application fully.
We welcome applications from equity-deserving groups, including women, Indigenous peoples, racialized persons, people with disabilities, and those identifying as LGBTQ2S+. If you require accommodations at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know.
