We are presently recruiting for an Associate within the Active Equities (AE) Strategy and Operations Group. In this role, you will be primarily accountable for: (i) the proactive cost management and review of the Market Data & Subscriptions (MD&S) expense lines across the Department, and (ii) supporting groups within AE to manage their operating expenses by providing advice and direction on financial matters.

The Opportunity:
  • Support the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process for all groups across AE
  • Conduct deep dive analysis around spend trends and variances, provide value-add intelligence around spend drivers and variances through commentary, drive efficiencies in the expense reporting and analysis process and present spend reporting results to business management and/or executives
  • Work with the MD&S team on proactively identifying cost optimization opportunities
  • Prepare quarterly consulting spend results and trends for discussion and analysis
  • Provide quarterly Opex and investment expenses analysis for AE groups to steer business performance and manage costs
  • Support the business continuity strategy and process for AE
  • Manage overall governance and compliance processes and requirements for the Department
  • Perform ad-hoc financial management analysis as required by AE management
  • Identify and develop processes that drive efficiency and effectiveness for the team
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business or equivalent, with a professional accounting designation
  • Minimum of 5-years\' experience in a similar role
  • Communicate in a clear, succinct, organized, and convincing manner verbally and in writing
  • Independent, resourceful, and able to work collaboratively with business stakeholders and AE colleagues
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of accounting and budgeting concepts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a high performing culture, open to and comfortable with evolving changes and new challenges
  • Exemplifies our Guiding Principles of partnership, integrity, and high performance.
  • Proven attention to detail requiring minimal supervision and review
