The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan. CLS produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.
The Spherical Grating Monochromator (SGM) is a soft x-ray beamline optimized for performing x-ray absorption spectroscopy and microprobe imaging as well as x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy with an emphasis on studying environmental samples and catalytic materials. An easily accessible endstation, utilizing four silicon drift detectors, is highly configurable and ideal for performing in-situ and in-operando experiments.
CLSI is now accepting applications for an Associate Scientist or Scientist position within our Environmental and Earth Sciences department on the SGM Beamline. We seek highly experienced, self-motivated individuals committed to scientific excellence that display adaptability to interdisciplinary collaborations, a proactive approach to instrumentation and problem-solving and effective communication skills. CLSI encourages candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply as we value the unique perspectives and contributions they bring to our dynamic research environment.
