The Research Ethics Associate is responsible for performing key functions within the Quality, Safety and Strategy portfolio. The Associate maintains the policies and processes within the SHA that ensure the safety and well-being of SHA research participants. Specific tasks include: o Assessing minimal risk biomedical and behavioural research studies approved for conduct in the SHA to ensure that they adhere to the highest of ethical standards; o Ensuring minimal risk studies approved for conduct within the SHA are scientifically valid; o Ensuring the SHA Research Ethics Board (REB) is compliant with provincial and federal privacy regulations, Health Canada regulations, and FDA requirements, as applicable; o Providing guidance and training for SHA clinicians, staff and local ethics committees on all issues pertaining to research ethics; o Liaising with University Research Ethics Boards to coordinate harmonized research ethics review processes for health research involving patients, employees, physicians, or SHA resources.

Master of Health Science (MHSc)

Licenses



Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training



Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
